The Scottish Transgender Alliance www.scottishtrans.org & Gender Spectrum UK www.gsuk.org wish to announce the launch of an on-line survey for the Gender Variant community with regards to issues that have come to light through the publication of the Equality Bill.

This is an important Bill and introduces some positive lines of protection for everyone. Whilst the Bill itself covers several different strands, we wish to specifically concern ourselves with the issues that affect the Gender Variant community. The survey will be anonymous and should take around 10 minutes to complete. The results will be published on the websites of both the Scottish Transgender Alliance and Gender Spectrum UK. The closing date for this survey is Saturday 23rd May. We would truly appreciate YOUR views on the priority issues within the Equality Bill. The survey can be found at:

The Scottish Transgender Alliance The Scottish Transgender Alliance is funded by the Scottish Government Equality Unit to support local transgender groups and individuals, to challenge inequality and discrimination, and to increase the participation of transgender people in Scottish daily and public life.

Gender Spectrum UK Gender Spectrum UK exists to promote the health, well-being and rights for gender variant people. Gender Spectrum UK is about allowing gender variant people to have a say in what they need and it will be gender variant people who decide what they feel needs to be done. Every gender variant person has individual needs and this group is a place to make them heard.


01/12/08 - First Trans Man Elected As Chair of Trustees

Following the Annual Gemneral Meeting of the Trust on 30th November 2008, the Board of Trustees elected Ben Thom as Chair. Ben is the first trans man to be elected to this position and follows his previouis year as Vice-Chair. Ben has a long history of involvement with the needs annd issues of the trans community being a founder member of FTM London and is a Vice-President of Press for Change.
